Wow, this is a really interesting week for The Lark, yes. it. is!

First of all, EVERY person who put in a bonus pick got at least one of their two correct. That’s a first. And as I predicted, Kevin was… well let’s just say, he was the crowd favorite. Most of you put down Karen. Five of us said Channing. But Ellen was kind of the standout with her half point coming from Channing, but was the only one who chose Victor rather than Kevin. Jenn was also a bit of a standout with her choice of Noelle rather than Karen.

Amrie, basically launched into the friggin stratosphere this week. She has, so far, gotten both contestants right weeks 2 and 3… and this week, one right and the other one in her wonder zone (and that’s what she said…… whoa, pervy Cabrera?!). At this point, our best hope for defeating her lies in Ashleigh. If Ashleigh comes in either first or second place, that will seriously bring her tower of babel tumbling to the ground… Maybe.

You’re fierce this season, Amrie. You want that trophy, don’t you?

I, however, did NOT hit my wonder zone this week. And sadly, it has rocked me… like a hurricane. I had very high hopes for Channing. And I still think she’s an amazing dancer. But it’s true, she was having a difficult time really letting loose. At least that’s how it was presented to us.

But I don’t believe this crap that it makes her more likely to settle for being a teacher as Nigel seemed to suggest. There are many artists who tinker early in their careers. Some are afraid to fail, sure; to make bold moves that could backfire and damage their road ahead. But artists like Channing are just trying to figure things out about themselves as artists… slowly, carefully… and they’re smart. They have a trajectory, even if it’s still loosely defined. And many of these types break in a big way later in their careers.

Unfortunately for dancers, there is a window dictated by age and what the body can withstand over years of this kind of physical work. But many become incredible choreographers… and the ones who become teachers, believe it or not, Nigel, usually have a deep need to teach. And that is a very noble and amazing thing in and of itself.

Okay, enough of that. Scorez (<- see what I mean about that 'z'!).
